Statement on Portland Police Communication with the Federal Police

Sarah Iannarone, Candidate for Portland Mayor, released the following statement in response to today's City Council resolution regarding Portland Police communication with the Federal police.

Our current Mayor is lying to the people of Portland every time he says the 'Feds are gone.' He has no business being the Mayor, nor the Police Commissioner, if he cannot simply be honest about the continued presence of Federal officers in our Portland. His insistence that PPB be allowed to coordinate with Trump's secret police is alarming and outrageous. Wheeler should turn over the control of Portland Police Bureau to Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, and stop using his privileged position to deceive the public.
